Paint Protection Film is referred to as PPF which is a urethane film (polyurethane) that is installed over your vehicle’s exterior paint to add an additional layer of protection from hail, rocks & insects. Clear Bra and car wrap are other names for PPF. Paint Protection film can maximize your vehicle’s resell value by protecting your car’s paint from damage. Stain Resistance, self-healing and superior optical clarity are some of the features of PPF.
The basic steps to install PPF on a vehicle include:
- Clean and dry the car thoroughly, removing any dirt, dust, wax or grease.
- Cut the PPF to fit the desired area, using a template or a knifeless tape.
- Spray the car and the PPF with a slip solution, which helps to position the film on the surface.
- Peel off the backing paper and apply the PPF to the car, starting from the center and working outwards.
- Use a squeegee to remove any air bubbles and excess solution, working from the center to the edges.
- Trim any excess film and tuck in the edges.
The installation training seminar will guide you through the steps and demonstrate techniques to get through the challenges. The course is “hands on” training.
