How to remove the rearview mirrors on a 2021 Ford F-150

Method 1: Notoriously “sketchy,” Ford rearview mirrors have a certain system for removal. Before you do it, consider whether or not it’s worth breaking the glass in order to put a piece of tint on it. It’s okay to either turn the vehicle away or ask the customer to take it to a glass shop beforehand so they can remove it instead. After all, you’re a tinter, not a glass technician. 

If you want to go ahead and remove it, you can stick an Allen key into the bottom of the cylindrical plastic piece attached to the glass. This should allow you to slide the piece through the metal groove before it completely pops off. The important thing is to slide the base along with the metal plate without bending it in any direction as this is what will cause the glass to crack.
