How to remove rear view mirror from windshield of Ford F-150 and most other Fords

Method 1: The mirror will slide upwards from the clip that is adhered to the windshield. Insert a right-angle hook bar in the very center between the mirror and the clip on the windshield. Tap the hook bar inside with a small rubber mallet or even the handle of a screwdriver so you don’t damage the glass. Pry with a hook bar slightly and then start tapping with your mallet. You should see the mirror slowly slide off the clip upwards. It’s important to let the hook bar do the work and allow the mirror to cleanly slide off without bending it, otherwise, you will crack the windshield. To put it back on, you can lube up the clip with a bit of glass cleaner so it goes on easier and cleans any debris.
