How to deal with untintable skylights

Method 1: If a skylight is untintable (perhaps because it’s a dome made of plexiglass) there are other alternatives. One possibility is to put an inner frame below the skylight, and use acrylic or polycarbonate and just lay the film between it and the skylight. You can tack it in place on each corner with clear tape that gets hidden by the framing. These covers can be a very profitable tactic for tinters.
