BYD is launching an electric truck and ceramic xtreme tint from TintDepot is the perfect complement to block the heat and keep you cool driving your EV. BYD plans to launch the e-truck by the end of 2023 and photos of the prototype truck have been leaked. BYD began as a battery maker and then worked up the value chain and started to make electric vehicles in China where they dominate the biggest car market in the world. After making over 150,000 electric cars in September 2023, they are now the second largest EV manufacturer in the world, right behind Tesla. With their high growth rate, many expect BYD to be the largest EV manufacturer by December 2023 due to the variety of EV’s that they make which includes the most cost effective EV’s that are much cheaper than can be found in the US market.
BYD manufactured over 430,000 EV’s in the third quarter of 2023 vs 435,000 EVs by Tesla. The electric truck is being designed by a former Audi designer, Wolfgang Egger. The truck is expected to be 209″ long which is about 17 1/2 feet long. This e-truck is expected to launch in China but not the US. The US has heavy tariffs on importing trucks into the US.
Our crew will be looking to get their hands on the BYD truck once is launches so that we can cut out car tint patterns and upload them on the FilmCut cutting software and get the body patterns for the PPF pattern database where you can cut car patterns with your computer and Workhorse plotter cutting machine. BYD will probably launch the e-truck in their other markets that include Mexico, Thailand, Europe, Brazil, Colombia, Australia, Japan, India and Israel. It’s a shame that those countries might see this truck before the US.

- Stellantis division Citroen of Europe is introducing two new EV models, the You model and the Max model EV. The You model price will start at $24,500 US$ (23,300 euros) and is expected in European showrooms in the middle of next year, 2024. And the Max model is expected in 2025 with a lower MSRP price of 19,900 euros which is about $21,000 US$.
