This will be a hands-on tinting installation class where you will learn how to work with vehicle window film and how to apply it to vehicles. There is a limit of only six students, so you will have plenty of time practicing the key techniques on car window installation.

To get the most out of the class, we recommend that any new prospective tinter should buy a inexpensive training roll of film to learn some of the basics before the class so that they can absorb more advanced techniques in tinting.  Some of the basics that a newbie tinter should try before the class include:

  • Buy a tint training roll (inexpensive)
  • Buy basic tint tools
    • Cutting knife (red dot, for example)
    • Basic squeegee: blue max or equivalent
    • One hard card or pink chizler
    • Spray bottle & trigger
  • Make an installation & cleaning solution: 1 quart of water w/ 5-10 drops of slip solution (baby shampoo)
  • Cut a small piece of film off the roll (12″)
  • Learn to remove the liner (practice removing the liner a few times to get good at it)
  • Play with the sticky side to understand the PS adhesive
  • Practice cleaning the window (removing all debris)
  • Spray any window to practice putting the film on
  • Practice cutting film on the window to learn how to handle the knife
  • Then, install a small piece of film on a French pane glass (12″ x 12″) or any window that you can play with
  • Then, remove that film & reapply. Try cutting along the window pane to practice more cutting
  • Learn how to remove the blade from cutting knife & put in back in.
  • Learn to remove one “snap off” from the cutting knife so that you have a fresh new blade to cut
  • Then practice on an easy back side window on a vehicle

If you practice a little bit before the class, you can learn the basics so that you can absorb more advanced techniques during the class
