Why are defrosters peeling off my 2020 Ford Explorer?

Method 1: These defrosters are notorious for peeling off for no apparent reason. In the last few years, Ford’s glass manufacturers have switched up the manufacturing process. This has led to many models with faulty defroster lines. It could also be a mistake at the end of the manufacturing process where they forget to peel off the outer layer. When tinting these, be extremely careful with prep work. If you sand or scrub them, move lengthwise (with the grain) as opposed to up and down. If the car’s defrosters are already hanging off when you receive it, then the only way to tint it is to peel them off, clean them, and tint as normal. It may be best to inform the customer beforehand that the defrosters are now useless and need to be taken off.
