How do you deal with the foam on Ford vehicles when working on the dot matrix?
Answer 1: These kinds of situations can be extremely tight. You can try to stuff a towel in the area to protect the vehicle, but the issue is that the towel may pull the film up when you remove it. Answer 2: A towel is not necessary for all Ford models. Many of the SuperDuty trucks have foam that allows you to push towards the back of the dash. This will cause the film to slide right into the right position. Do not try to remove it. Answer 3: In order to tint the full windshield, you often need to remove the window entirely. Make sure you inform your customers of this before you go ahead and remove the window. There’s actually a secondary section underneath the matrix. Start on the passenger side and slowly pull it. Answer 4: Your goal should be to remove the foam all at once. The foam is attached with two-sided tape. Squeeze the finger at the rear. This will cause the foam to roll upwards until you have enough to pull. If you try anything else, it will cause marks on the plastic. Answer 5: Some tinters simply choose to throw away the foam. After throwing it away, you can rope the area before install.
