How do you avoid fingers on the quarter windows of a 2001 Nissan Sentra?
Answer 1: There is a technique known as the double-snap shrink that works well with these windows. This involves lifting the bottom up four inches after your initial shrink before shrinking once again. Answer 2: Fingers are often caused by inadequate prep work, especially if you’re working with a dirty vehicle. Answer: Use extra slip solution and do the quarter windows first. Then, tint the rest of the vehicle and come back to the quarter windows as your last step. This will allow the adhesive time to work its magic. You can then go over the outside of the glass with a heat gun, and this should work well. Answer 3: Try turning the film sideways before shrinking. Next, lift the film from the glass and spray very lightly. Finally, you need to place the film back on the glass and shrink once more while pulling fingers towards the front of the pillar. You need to shrink repeatedly for this particular window in order to avoid fingers. Answer 4: The easiest approach is to run the straight edge of the film alongside the straight edge of the window. This allows you to shrink the window from the long side. Finally, you need to place the tint on the rear of the window and shrink with minimal water.
