How to fix problems with Harmon Kardon sound system on an Audi 2 Series after tinting

Method 1: It’s important to act quickly and disconnect the system. Put it on a flat dry surface and try to dry it out. It can be accessed by removing the covering in the rear trunk and simply removing the screws that hold it in place. The entire removal process can take about 20-25 minutes, so that should be accounted for and billed for if done before the tint job on these models. The reason these get damaged during tinting is that the amp for the speaker system is directly below the rear window, and even just light spraying can leak through the cracks and drip through. After drying out thoroughly with a blow dryer, a heat gun on low, or a vacuum on reverse, try reinstalling it and driving around in the car for a while. Even if the sound doesn’t come on right away, it may come on after a few minutes of driving. Replacing these systems at the dealer may cost up to $3,000, so hopefully there is no major damage.
