How to fix plotters that are making odd mistakes and anomalies

Method 1: If your plotter is making odd mistakes on patterns, there are a number of solutions you can try. For example, you might be seeing rounded corners on squares or little slivers of film splitting off on edges. First, double-check that you don’t have any grip wheels that may be worn out or in need of repair. Check the offset of the blade as well. You will want to make certain that it’s set according to the specifications of the blade. The blade may also be too high for the cuts you’re making. Generally speaking, most blades are made at a .25mm offset. Also, check on the cutting strip. If you’ve already taken it off, it can be near-impossible to reapply it properly. It almost always will have spots that are too high or too low, making it unusable afterward. If this is the case, you will need to get the cutting strip replaced. Method 2: Try adjusting the speed settings. Sometimes odd mistakes happen when the speed is higher than what the film can handle.
